Basic (Hatha I)
Our Basic Teacher Training program easily fulfills the requirements for certification at the Yoga Alliance 200-hour level. This program offers training in the fundamentals of the Integral Yoga Hatha system, and emphasizes a balance between practical skill-building and spiritual growth. With this balance, our graduates have both the experience and the techniques needed to be gifted and well-prepared teachers.
Accessible Yoga - Basic Training
Accessible Yoga Teacher Training is a two-part 400-hour Integral Yoga teacher training certification program specifically designed to train people with disabilities to become Yoga teachers. It is the only program in the U.S. that meets national standards and focuses on
being available to people who have a disability, chronic illness, or physical limitation.
The first phase is Basic Training which covers the fundamentals of Yoga teaching.
We also offer advanced training for yoga teachers to deepen their understanding of Yoga and their teaching skills. These programs are available for anyone who has graduated from our Basic Teacher Training, or any Yoga Alliance-certified 200-hour teacher training.
Intermediate (Hatha II)
Advanced training in Asana and Pranayama Level 2. This program prepares you to teach our Intermediate Hatha Yoga class, and offers advanced training in Asana, Pranayama, Anatomy & Physiology, and in-depth study of the Bhagavad Gita.
Advanced (Hatha III)
The Advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher Training course provides you with the opportunity to further refine your skills and expand your service by learning how to teach a more advanced class – Hatha Yoga Level 3.
Raja Yoga
This course offers training in the philosophy and psychology of Yoga through the in-depth study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. The focus of this program is on understanding Yoga philosophy and practical training in how to share that philosophy with your students. Much of the time is spent learning about how to prepare present public talks.
Children’s Yoga
This program offers training in adapting Hatha Yoga classes to meet the needs of children of different ages. Specific techniques for engaging children, such as song, games and fantasy are incorporated into the class.
Prenatal Yoga
This program offers training in teaching Integral Yoga to pregnant women.
We will cover the benefits of practicing Yoga during pregnancy, and any contraindications. We will also learn about helping pregnant women take care of themselves during this special time, and help them to prepare for a relaxed birth.
Accessible Yoga - Yoga for Healing
Yoga for Healing Teacher Training is a graduate-level program that focuses on how to use the Yoga practices for healing. This is an advanced study of Yoga philosophy, and modifying the Hatha Yoga poses. The focus is on how to make the Yoga teachings available to any population that you may be interested in teaching, including students with disabilities. Also, the program is designed to accommodate teachers who have a disability themselves.
Gentle Yoga
In the Gentle Yoga Teacher Training we will focus on ways of adapting the Integral Yoga Hatha class to meet the needs of specific populations including the elderly, people recovering from injury, and those with disabilities and chronic illness. By delving deeper into the science of Yoga we will try to uncover the basic elements of yoga practice. We will then explore ways of making these practices accessible to all people regardless of their physical ability.
Yoga for the Special Child
Yoga for the Special Child®, LLC training programs offer a unique learning environment for children and their parents, special education teachers, Yoga teachers and health care professionals. Courses are taught by internationally renowned Yoga therapist and author Sonia Sumar, whose innovative teaching methods have been improving the lives of children with special needs for more than 30 years.

Teacher Training Program
Our Teacher Training program has been training teachers and changing lives for over twenty-five years. In San Francisco, we are lucky to have a gifted and experienced staff that has taught this training for years.
In fact, Integral Yoga was a founding member of the Yoga Alliance (the national organization of Yoga teachers).
